La Gerla was created to valorise and distribute gastronomic artisan products from the Piedmont Region (North Italy at the foot of the Alps). La Gerla is particularly rich in culinary specialities from“Vallate Occitane, Langa, Roero and Vallate Torinesi”.

DISCOVER WHO'S BEHIND IT ALL.
Massimo Pasquale, was born in Cuneo in 1965 where he grew up side by side with the traditions and culinary customs of the Towns of Cuneo and Dronero, at the foot of the Maira and Grana Valleys.
His summer holidays were spent in and aroundCuneo in the picturesque valleys of Vermenagna, Gesso, Stura, Grana and Maira, where, thanks to his great grandmother, Angela Castellino, born in1897 he learnt to appreciate and savour the secrets of good home cooking and conserving during the hot summer months, ready for the cold winter months to follow.
On finishing his studies he worked for 18 years in the commercial sector of informatics travelling throughout Europe, but the ties that linked him to country and home produce were too strong a pull.
The project“Gerla”(the name coming from a cone shaped basket carried on one’s back through the sloping countryside full of produce)was born from this deep rooted passion ; a choice made so that the flavours of his heritage could be passed onto his friends and then to all those who wish to share in his never ending search for perfection in taste and quality, together with the land andtraditions that still hold firm his roots.
